You have to be careful here IMHO, cheap zooms come in all flavours. Just because it is an "f2.8" does not mean that it is fantastic - take the original AF zoom for the ME-F. F2.8 and a dog. Of course, it the manufacturers can sell a less specified f2.8, they will.
Pentax only makes 2 pro-quality AF zooms and you had better be prepared to part with some real cash.
I have never tried the FA*28-70/2.8. But the FA*80-200/2.8 which I tried 4 years ago with Z-1p, the AF was slow. It's a quality piece of metal, but not as solidly built as the Nikkor AF 80-200/2.8 which my friend had. :-(
