If you want med to high contrast and are either developing it yourself or taking it to someplace like Aaron's I would go with T-Max. Tri-X has a very long tonal scale which flattens it a bit especially in flat lighting. If you are going to process the T-max yourself I would use either T-Max or X-Tol developer as T-max is fussy about developers for good results. My favorite is T-max 1:2 at 80F (one shot).
