Hi! MJ> In short, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the *ist D's 23.5mm x 15.7mm MJ> sensor size. There is every reason to expect the image quality is going to MJ> be excellent, clearly better than digicam image quality.
MJ> So let's not fret. A DSLR doesn't need a 35mm-sized sensor to be great. Well, since I said that I don't like the APS sized sensor, I guess I should be replying. Here I am. Well, of course it is big sensor, compared to digicams. Well, of course, parts because of the sensor side (a.k.a. image quality) DSLRs cost way more than digicams (which I'd much rather call DP&S - digital point and shoot). Well, of course there are excellent pictures made by other brands cameras with similar sensors. Now, sky is __not falling__. But it's not high enough for me either, ok? I'd wait for two things - for the turn over of tech generation - say 18 month (according to some popular law), for the job that I'd hopefully find. Then perhaps I'd buy one of these. Again, it is not fretting, whatever that would be. It is simply my perspective... And my two hundreds of your favorite currency of course. --- Boris Liberman www.geocities.com/dunno57 www.photosig.com/viewuser.php?id=38625
