Tell you what - it doesn't matter. What you find soon enough is that it's such a faff connecting up the camera to the computer (they will insist on covering USB ports with silly flexible rubber grommets) that you'll just buy a card reader anyway. I got Fuji FireWire (IEEE1394) card reader and hey presto, I'm loading pics up to the desktop at wonderful speeds. IMO a card reader is essential.
