It's funny but she doesn't like the weight because she has been using the ZX-7. I am constantly reminded that whereas most of use like the feel of a metal camera, her genration thinks nothing of having plastic, since most of there favorite things (CD players, etc.) are the same level of construction. This just feels natural to them, whereas the metal stuff feels heavy and clunky.
