I suppose Pentax are just following the pack, as N***N have released aperture ring-less lenses of late - squarely aimed at enthusiasts. I think a couple of them even had plastic or polycarbonate lens mounts from memory
Both C***n and N***n (should I write them as ***on ?) produced some glorious 50mm primes with plastic mounts.
