Me to Joe. None of us is ever likely to but a lens like an FAJ - are we? I certainly wouldn't be interested in anything that I can't use on my LX. Although the J should work on any of the z/pz or mz series cameras. I suppose Pentax are just following the pack, as N***N have released aperture ring-less lenses of late - squarely aimed at enthusiasts. I think a couple of them even had plastic or polycarbonate lens mounts from memory

Cheers

If the *ist is a medium-level camera -- which it could be from its features -- then why package it (or even show it) with a crippled J lens?

For that matter, would photographers serious enough to buy the digital slr want it with a J lens?

I sincerely hope Pentax succeeds, but their reasoning elused me.
