I'm not sure what the specs of the Epson 740, but your cartridge should be able to produce more than 8 5x7s. I get about 10 to 15 11 x 14s from each color cartridge on my Epson 1200. I don't like Kodak inkjet papers. The best glossy is Epson Premium Photo Paper. Epson Archival Matte is also very nice. My absolute favorite is Hannemuhle Digital Fine Art. The "William Turner" 310g/m2 stock is a beautiful water color style paper that prints wonderfully. I believe it's similar to the old Ilford Fine Art Paper. A recent side by side comparison of inkjet printers in Macworld magazine once again gave top honors to Epson. Paul
