Stephen is right and that is the most efficient way as far as file size
in concerned...The second way is to submit the whole PDF which depending
on how big your form is can create large emails (sometimes 500kb or
more)...Fortunately Acrobat 6 has better compression than previous
versions...

Also sending the complete PDF might require two much bandwidth for your
clients to be sending through email...Various things can
happen...Acrobat can stall as well as the email program when sending
large attachments...Having said that if you still want to send the
complete PDF this is how you do it..

1) Add a "submit" button to your PDF
2) Set your button's "Mouse Down" action to submit form.
3) Type in the URL of your CGI script (If you do not have a script check
out www.form-genie.com . They provide such a script that is available in
PHP, ColdFusion and ASP. It sends the FDF like Stephen suggested)
4) Click "PDF - Complete document" as the Export format.

Again I suggest sending the FDF through the internet (average file size
is less than 5kb in most cases).

Subject: [PDF-Forms] question - we need an entire form (completed by our
clients online) to be submitted back to us from our Web site

Hi Everyone ~

I'm trying (in vain so far) to post a form on our Web site that our
clients can fill out and then return to us over the Internet. The
problem I'm having is that we don't just want the data, we want to
receive the entire form filled in with the client's information that we
can print out. One person at Adobe said he thought this was possible
with Acrobat 6.0 Professional, which we purchased, and referred me to
the pdfzone Web site for how-to advice.

Most of the research I've done seems to point to my needing a CGI
script, which I don't know how to do. I've tried researching our ISP's
Web site, but the sample form they provide for us to tailor to our needs
results only in the data being e-mail to us. Help! My supervisor is
already telling people this service is on our Web site.

Thank you,
Melissa Thurber
