Thanks Leonard.  We should have a copy of 6.0 within a couple days.  However, do you know much about writing that _javascript_?  I’m not too familiar with the process.  If its any easy explanation your help would be greatly appreciated.  But if not, no sweat.  We’ll start reading up about it.

This locks the field but makes the type disappear.

        If you upgrade to Acrobat 6, this won't happen anymore...
        
        OR if you want to stay with Acrobat 5, then you need to write a _javascript_ that will do the "read only" setting for that, since that won't clear out the text.
