Let's call a spade a spade.
SPAM, defined:
  1. To send unsolicited e-mail to.
2. To send (a message) indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups.

Whatever the motivation of the sender, she or he is not the recipient of these annoying, time consuming emails. This list is for the mutual education of the members, and I believe we've all been thoroughly educated on this topic. There's nothing wrong with making the kind of error Lisa made, but failure to fix it calls for removal, in my opinion. By the way, I haven't gotten any more SPAM from Lisa, so she must be making progress.

I think it might be a good idea if we didn't use the word "spam" for
every kind of nuisance message that we would prefer not to receive. It
can lead to misunderstandings.

However, Lisa, the point is that the anti-spam system that you are
trying to use MIGHT work on an address that you want to keep special and
that receives limited traffic. However it is _completely incompatible_
with membership on mailing lists such as this one and gives everybody a
pain in the neck. We've had this problem here not once but several
times over the years, and of course on other lists too.

I belong to one carefully moderated list that has a rule that people who
use those "challenge systems" receive one warning, and then OUT. No
"hinting" or "considering".
