I'm coming out of lurking - with a problem. I'm trying to set up a legacy (DOS) program on a Windows 95 laptop. MSDOS.SYS automatically loads up the GUI (that's Windows). I want to disable it (GUI=0) and then let the computer read the autoexec.bat and load up the DOS program.
However, MSDOS.SYS is a read-only system file, and I cannot change it with ATTRIB. Does anybody remember how I can modify MSDOS.SYS?
