Everyone's XP shows OE5 for XP in the registry.  I don't why
and have often wondered why.  OE loads MUCH faster with no
splash screen.

That's interesting that you are using 5.0 with XP.  I would
have thought XP would have hit you with 6.0.  I use XP and
the OE splash screen lasts about a second and goes right to
the mail.  I just checked because it is not my active mail
program though it contains about three gig of mail that I
use for reference.  My active mail program is TheBat!.
