If I understand you Don, in the "appearance" tab then under the "advanced" button is where you modify this and I think there is also a tab in the area for "desktop" for it. You select the desktop background color, and if the icon text background color is the same, it seems to be transparent. If you pick a different color for the text background, then it of course will show up. -Clint
Happy Holidays to all & God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://OrpheusComputing.com ) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ben Moore" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I don't know how to do that one. Windows seems to set it based on your desktop background. There used to be a program call Disappear, I think, that would let you change text color or make it transparent no matter what you desktop color but it only worked on Win9x. I'm sure there is software out there somewhere that will do it, one of the theme programs like Object Desktop or StyleXP maybe. Ben -----Original Message----- Behalf Of Don Briggs Hi Ben, I now have an invisible background on my desktop Icon text. Now I have White Text with a black Shadow, I would love it if it were Black text and a white shadow but have searched and searched and can not find how to change the Icon text colors like I used to be able to do in Win98SE. Thanks for your quick response, Rocky de Dragon Your Reply: Right click on my computer and choose properties. Go to the advanced tab and click on performance options, then visual effects tab . Make sure "use drop shadows for icon labels is checked. ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
