Great idea!  It's partly done with the automatically download watched
messages checkbox, but as your question points out, some users may wish to
do it for all messages, not just watched messages.

For my text group instance, as you, I'd be one of those users, tho it's no
big deal here as I'm on a cable modem and downloading text messages to
order is virtually instant.  It'd still be nice to do it in what amounts
to one shot automatically, rather than downloading overviews, then either
selecting all messages and hitting download, or downloading them
individually as I go.
