Looking at the comments, posts, etc from the internet, many people like us have passed through the same situation for a long time. I might be wrong but I think, at least, pf should update their official documentation for this kind of matter. To avoid instead of believing pf will get you the Captive Portal as you expected reading their official material. I had FreeRADIUS using LDAP in Googleworkspace (Only Freeradius, not pf) working perfectly fine on Unifi, Aruba Central, Instant On and Omada (TP-Link) in some places around the world. It was working perfectly but unfortunately, for cost-saving reasons, many features, including ldap service were reduced/taken down. As a result, freeradius was dead. Now I'm looking for a new open source solution which offers SAML authentication as I have it in another tool today. I was hoping to achieve this goal with pf for wifi but it looks like not today or probably in the near future either, since we don't have any news or updates about this case. So, if you or anyone knows any open source solution that could offer SAML as an authentication method for Unifi, pls leave a comment.
