The below email is classified: Internal Hello, I'm an apprentice and currently working on my graduation project - Connecting two networks with a captive portal. I tried to use packetfence as a captive portal / firewall between the two networks. The system should work without a switch attached, so the packetfence server is directly added to the clients routing table as the gateway for the corresponding network. This means the solution needs to be only ip-based, without the need for mac addresses. It seems that packetfence is the wrong solution for the intended use, it would be great if you can confirm this or provide some instructions on how to tweak the configuration. At the moment, the client is redirected to the captive portal website, where no login is possible because packetfence is not able to pick up the mac address (0 is displayed as the mac adress)and thus displays the following message "Your computer was not found in the PacketFence database. Please reboot to solve this issue."
