Hi,
I had the same problem, problem was connected to RDS license type.
rdesktop don't support "per device" on W2K8 R2 in version 1.7.0 and
below.
I changed to "per user" and then it worked.
Other solution is to use FreeRDP module, this supports "per device"
licensing.

This is from a standard install of Openthinclient with hardly any

I get similar results from FreeRDP.

try to find out the reason, why the RDP client won't start:
Please open a xterm (ctrl+alt+shift+x) and copy+paste the starter-command
from the desktop-icon
(rightclick-->properties-->starter) into it.
