Hi Kevin,
I had a similar issue, what client are you using freerdp or rdesktop? most
probably it is related to the settings of the application. if you are
connecting to a windows machine are you sure remote control is enabled and
if it is a win 7 machine it is better if you select the less secure method
of communication. Let me know I might be able to replicate the scenario on
my setup
