This is a small change, as it means you no longer
get 'unstable'
branches of GNOME in here. But it gets you
(hopefully!) stable
experience, which you can expect 'quickly' to
land in openSUSE:Factory
Dominique, how does this relate to GNOME:Stable?
Good question Andreas,
Short answer: no change to what we have so far.
Long answer:
GNOME:STABLE:* are 'best effort' repositories provided for 'the latest
version of GNOME on top of the latest release of openSUSE as long as
resource and technicalities allows for it'
So currently, that means GNOME 3.12 is available in there for openSUSE
13.1, which was shipped with GNOME 3.10.
In September/October, GNOME 3.14 will be released, BUT the 'resource'
factor will, with a high probability, NOT allow to port this to
openSUSE 13.1, as we will be busy ensuring this to properly find its
way into Factory for the 13.2 split.
So for GNOME 3.14, the openSUSE Version to be used will be openSUSE 13.2.
More hands might make it possible to provide it for older releases.
Hope that answers the question.
Best regards,
Dominique / DimStar
