Hello
A Quick search relvealed [0] And there seems to be a clause that
excluded small companies
Quote:
>The requirements and obligations of this Directive do not apply to
microenterprises providing services within the scope of this Directive –
whereby ‘microenterprise’ means an enterprise which employs fewer than
10 persons and which has an annual turnover not exceeding €2 million or
an annual balance sheet total not exceeding €2 million.[8]
Since we are below this line even with the Association goals in mind,
this will not target us. What I am not clear about is where the line is
drawn who makes a product in an open source setting. In the case of GIMP
it would be the GIMP developers that make the GIMP "Product" and not us.
Same for Thunderbird. Thunderbird being the currently best funded OSS
project to my knowledge only scratches the 8.6 Million mark. So we will
be ok for quite some time :) [1]
Hope this clarifies things

Dear Reginald,
The European Accessibility legislation is enacted from 28th June 2025...it
cover a wide spread of digital access issues including development of
software and operating systems.it will initially effect the EU.However it's
effects will touch upon changes required in the USA and the UK in both
government and private sector supply chain. This is a reference to awareness
not any legal advice.A web search of European Accessibility Act 2025 should
provide answers to initial questions. Regards Robert

Robert,
WTF?
A bit of explanation would be useful. Link to the legislation perhaps?
Some explanation beside merely a change of subject line.
There is nothing in your reply or subject line that has logical continuity
with the quoted posts about GIMP not working.
I did not receive anything following Apostolos' post but yours. Nothing in
the SPAM bin. So there is absolutely no continuity of thought between his
and Marc's posts and yours.
Has the EU decided that GIMP must be usable by the blind? It certainly
looks like the sort of thing
someone in Brussels would demand.

I had to use some online tools for even basic things.Have you tried to
upgrade your system(s)?

Hello,
For quite a long time, I cannot anymore use gimp on openindiana:
apparently recent versions(2.1) on openindiana cannot load files in
common image formats such as jpg or png
When I try, I get a message window saying (sorry, in French):
Le greffon s’est arrêté brutalement : « file-png »
(/usr/lib/amd64/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/file-png/file-png)
« file-png-load » n’a renvoyé aucune valeur.
I hoped that it would be solved but apparently it did not.
Did anybody else suffer of this problem ? Is there a workaround (other
than starting a windows machine where gimp works)
Thanks
Marc
