I had about 2,6 TB of data which was on a raid-z of 3 X 1,5TB Samsung HD154UI drives (with a small OCZ SSD as log + cache). During migration I had the 3 x 3TB Seagate ST3000DM001 connected to an ATA, and an 2 USB/esata-dockingstations (cheap 20 euro Sweex-unit, but handled the big disks just fine). OI handled the different interfaces/speeds (caused by the limited space in my HP N36L) complete transparently. Now I have them connected again to the internal SATA-ports. The Seagates behave very well.
