[~kpumuk], are you still working on this? If not, I can take it. Ruff with the
current flake8 settings (E,W,F,C90, ignore E402/E501, 120 columns, complexity
30) reports nothing on master, so the swap can be a config-only PR; enabling
isort ({{I}}) afterwards is 77 auto-fixes across 65 files. I'd leave {{ruff
format}} out unless you want it.
