Long ago (maybe around 2010) I used a program called Aid4Mail to download
and archive emails, and it stored them in some sort of database for easy
searching if I needed to find something. (And it was Windows only.) Now I
need a similar product, and I just found out Aid4Mail went to annual
licenses like 2013 and is now only targeting business/enterprise customers
(and it was Windows only).

The primary goal is just to download selected emails and store them in a
searchable format, in case I ever need to retrieve one in the future. I
suppose at a basic level, I could just use Thunderbird, though it doesn't
have any compression features.

Any thoughts?

Paul
