Not long after I discovered Crouton wasn't what I thought it was. *sigh* It
is a full Linux environment, but it runs within Chrome OS... (On the bright
side, the Powerwash seems to have fixed my WiFi problems.) Also Crouton GUI
programs (including the desktop environment itself) have serious rendering
problems.

Looking into disabling firmware write protect and https://mrchromebox.tech/
firmware update to be able to truly install Linux. Anyone else gone down
this rabbit hole before? A few hops to get there, but originated at a
trusted source...

Kaybe Lake hardware, so if I'm reading things correctly, I have to open it
up and remove the battery (temporarily?) to get it to disable firmware
write protect. And after flashing BIOS, it can't go back to Chrome OS. I'd
rather not brick it before I get it paid for on my no interest financing.
