ARG!!! Surely this is old news to somebody out there -- PLEASE!

We've been installing operating systems via PXE here a long time. We are retiring our CentOS 5 (.8 32 bit) tftpboot server and I am just now breaking in (or down...) the replacement CentOS 6 (.5 64 bit) tftpboot server. I've gotten past all the pedestrian issues: dhcp mapping, nfs, kickstarts and so on.

I am chasing several red herrings trying to make this boot.

- Please append "root=" boot option. Available partions: <none>

- List of all partitions:

- No filesystem could mount root, tried: iso9660

- RHEL6 moved to initrmfs from initrd

- dracut-network is different and by some reports, broken!

Oh by the way, I can boot / install CentOS 5 from my CentOS 6 tftpboot server. I can and have install[ed] CentOS 6 from my CentOS 5 tftpboot server.

Really???

Howard
