Hi!

So if you are using exactly the same equipment, I think that only two points
can cause the problem:

1. One or more devices I am using are not working correctly. What I am going
to do about this is to get the equipment back to the store to get all three
things replaced.

2. Cables not fitting the requirements. I am using CAT 5e actually, but it may
be that this is a part of the problem. Can you say something about this
point?

What I can actually do is answer a few of the questions you sent me:

> - Which kernel are you using ?
2.6.11.4-21.8-default

> - If it still sucks, can you try 2.6.13-rc6 ?
Is there any known problem related to the driver with the kernel I am using?
Just to make sure that to drive to the shop and get the devices replaced is
worth it.

Additional information for this: Setting the speed to 1000MBit with
$ ethtool -s eth2 speed 1000 duplex ull
doesn´t change anything. When I do the same under Win XP (switching from
Autosensing to 1000MBit), it´s still the same - and that´s why I guess it´s a
problem of the hardware or the cables.
