SITUATION|EVENT (SIT|EV) 19 July – 8 September 2013
This summer Gasworks launches SITUATION|EVENT (SIT|EV), a 60-day project packed with performances, workshops, readings, screenings and other events that bring audiences in direct contact with the process of art making as it unfolds. The events as part of SIT|EV seek to create an open space where questions can be raised on the current definition of ‘site’ and ‘live’ within artistic practice. As work develops in front of the public, the project also asks at what stage in the art-making process it is relevant to involve audiences; how can institutions better support practices that are defined by their state of flux or that refuse to be finished? Developed by Gasworks’ Residency Programme, SIT|EV builds on the organisation’s 20-year history of organising process-led residencies for international artists. During the two-months, Gasworks has invited Alex Cecchetti (Italy), Antoine Davenne (France), Achim Lengerer (Germany) Marcy Saude (USA) and Alice Theobald (UK) to spend between one-week and two-months at Gasworks, animating the spaces with various events. The project also includes a number of guest artists who will make their contributions through live-feeds, appearances and collaborations. more http://gasworks.org.uk/events/detail.php?id=864 _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list [email protected] http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
