Most breaking changes were done between 0.84 and 0.85 rc1 as part of the
development for 0.85, so these are not really exceptional. It just doesn't
feel right because we did not have any beta's in the 0.85 release cycle.

But there were indeed two other breaking changes (one in rc3 and one in
rc4). We could've postponed these changes until after 0.85 RTM, but that
would just have increased the impact.

I agree that it's a bad practice to introduce breaking changes in rc's, and
I hope to avoid it in the future (by, amongst other things, having shorter
release cycles).

I think we (the NAnt community) need to revise it.
