One thing you could do is wrap your .build file in another .build file.  The <style> 
task gets executed in your outer build file:

...
<nant buildfile="mainbuild" target="go">
<style .... />
...

If that makes sense.

There is also the NantContrib record task, which may or may not be able to force an 
early writing of the XML log.
