If we are going with TITS what about TITS-Disk? We might lose them with ORB. In any case a catchy name is a must! Anybody curious how the female students would react to the name TITS?
I suppose we are relying on the fact that this project makes student's lives easier. Some students will be interested from the start, but others will initially only show interest because the open software is immediately available, as opposed to the having to google and download whatever other software most lecturers will inevitably suggest. A few goodies should be thrown in. Putty should be included in any case as we have sometimes needed to SSH onto one of uni's machines. Some engineering software could be thrown in too. Apart from some self explanatory html pages explaining the software on the disk itself, it would be a good idea to dedicate part of the /discover or whatever part of the website to explaining the programs included and link to their homepages. A cd for MCAST would be a lot harder as from what I gather, they tend to be much more tied down to specific products. Anybody think targeting A Level students would be a good idea?
