Dear MLUG,
I'm all for the committee, It is the way forward.
Where are we to meet on Sat?
Regarding the statute, one should just ask one of the
other LUGs around
the world for a copy, get a statute some another Maltese
club, and adapt
them. Don't try reinventing the wheel.
With regards to govt. and OSS, maybe dealing with the
Ministry for IT&T
is not the best approach, there are others who wield
power who might be
more open. As I mentioned in a post several weeks ago,
when I discussed
the issue of software patents with one of the temporary
MEPs he was
extremely interested in learning about the problems of
Intellectual
Property regarding IT. Also realise that the whole M$
issue is pure PR.
Remember OSS activists have votes too.

I like Keith's idea: We have a meeting - everyone
invited - discuss
things face to face and come up with ideas for the MLUG,
and perhaps
end the meeting by deciding on a committee. What do you
all say?
Also, would Saturday AM be a good time for a meeting?
