THis suggestion will not tell you what's wrong with your current set up, but may help alleviate your shutdown problems. I'm suggesting it because I was having similar shutdown issues with 4.5. Around every other shutdown, it would just hang at the "syncing disks" part. I stay current with this box and after 4.6 was introduced I've had no shutdown problems. Try upgrading? -Neal
