If your ip changes while the remote backups are copying files, then it will break the transfer. One solution can be to wrap the lot inside wireguard, which does handle either side changing ips, and is quite good at resuming traffic if/when the hosting site flushes the firewall rules, for whatever reason. -- May the most significant bit of your life be positive.
