I got the PPD file from one of the foo* packages.
For some reason, even though dmeg sees the printer at ulpt0, I could
not get cups to see the printer connected to my usb port.
You don't need CUPS. The base lpd works just fine.
I will look at the documentation and play with it some more. I may have
missed something in the setup. I went for CUPS and the network printer
solution because it was quick and easy.
