That was my thought as well.
Ultimately, if it helps the project, great. If it would confuse or
irritate people, best avoid it.

Also regarding the contest:
Are there any pre-existing opinions in the community regarding styles
or themes for the logo (animal mascots, typographic, abstract, etc.)
or should participants just come up with whatever comes to mind
(SNAKES!!!) and run with it?

In other words: what should MinGW-w64 *look* like?  Friendly?
Professional? Other?
