Hi Folks,
For years we have been using a mix of Methicillin:Ampicillin (80:20) for
satellite free plates. However after about 10 years we have finally used
up our Methicillin, 100g bought before Sigma stopped supplying it.
Virtually all our vectors are now on Kanamycin but I still have the odd
old clone that is solely Ampicillin.
So does anyone know of a supplier of inexpensive methicillin or an
alternative antibiotic, bar carbenicillin? Can one use a mix with
Oxacillin?
