I made a few comparisons with windows' newest wickedGL driver and Mesa
performed both excellent and poor sometimes. When it came to dynamic light
rendering, Mesa surpassed the win one but at high polygon counts, I had a
considerable fps drop while in win it was more or less stable.

Maybe it would be nice to put some effort in those Mesa routines because
this library is really really good. Any thoughts on bottleneck functions
which affect performance at high polygon counts?

p.s. I had the mtrr set up for write-combining. V3 2000, my own
compilation of Mesa 3.1 with glide optimized for V2 (it was the fastest of
5 alternate builds), Glide_V3-2.60-9.
