Again you conflate LF with "the community"

I don't, on the contrary. I think that they are distinct entities and the LF has
no interest in the community. This makes the answer to your question if the LF a
suitable host for the MeeGo community simple; no.

But how are you going to get the software to build your apps? If you have a
separate OBS, with separate packages, a separate kernel, hooks for separate
BSPs, and a separate community then you're not really MeeGo, you're a fork.

Correct - the only way that would work is if we took the MeeGo OBS with us and had only one set of those things and acted to deliver into the LF under the MeeGo trademark.

Maybe think of formeego.org as a kinda freelance entity that just happens to be committed to delivering into MeeGo and has lighter legal ties to the LF. We 'move' all our resource into that project and look ... nothing changes.

I can't escape the feeling that formeego is a fork aimed at not just creating
ARM based MeeGo distros and creating x86 apps but also welcoming with open arms
those who are unhappy with the current MeeGo "community." Am I totally wrong?

Yes. It is a legal/organisational structural proposal to the MeeGo community to provide clarity of the LF role in order to protect the LF from the legal risk they feel exposed to and yet permit the community to offer services they desire.

One reason that it is relevant to 'those who are unhappy with the current MeeGo "community." ' is that I would hope that in doing this the community (including Intel and others) would take the opportunity to review the organisational issues we have (TSG!) and maybe look to make some improvements.
