...which is not that much of an issue, because with proper path/rpath handling 
those libraries would not conflict the vendor supplied ones (Compliant ones 
can't dump their stuff in /usr/lib anyway, right ?), and if they do conflict, 
due to some shared resources like ports or magic files/sockets somewhere, the 
same would happen if libbar was statically linked into fooapp. Been there, 
done that (this has come up in Maemo between Nokia repos and Extras, and has 
been acted upon, so Extras now contain even alternative versions of Qt).
