the "open source one" is called "nouveau" ;-)
and yes for 1.1 we'll look at it hard to include that.
(right now the nouveau guys aren't really promising stability in
userspace ABI, meaning it's a bit of a pain; I have good hopes that this
is getting resolved in the upstream kernel very soon)
