As I replied to the same charge earlier, the purges began in 1934 with the 
sensational arrests of Zinoviev and Kamenev and others accused of belonging to 
a "Trotskyite-Zinovievite Terrorist Center".  Brecht would have unquestionably 
been aware of this "terrorist centre" in the interim between their arrests and 
their show trial in 1936, and it increeasingly makes sense to me that his 1935 
poem was written with it uppermost in mind.
