I would mostly use fully automatic configuration sharing between Windows
and Linux (although I have yet to find time for Windows compilation). I
don't want to play with individual options. Groupware guys need one
centralized configuration and some way for users to alter options and
return them to defaults. All this can be hardcoded for maximum simplicity
and safety.

Btw, an icon next to each option could be used for entering commands for
specific options. Right-clicking it would display menu with commands to
move option to different folder/identity/file. The icon could change
depending on actual location and indicate whether it is default.
