I fully agree for a newsreader to aim for GNKSA.

Two things, though:

- M is not at all a decent newsreader as it is now. There are several
  problems that even hindered me to use it for more than a week. You may
  want to have a look e.g. on thread 'Eating our own dog food' in this
  list, started on 15 Nov 2002.

- I'm not even completely sure that we can come up with a good GUI for
  both a mailer and a newsreader. When I use a newsreader (I used to use
  XNews, now using slrn), it does not at all feel like a mailer. Maybe
  this is just a lack of proper analysis, but I feel that the workflow
  is really different... Anyway, I'm sure we should first have a very
  good/usable mailer, before coming back to the newsreader part.
