Another important thing is that I noticed (and I believe there should have been a note about this somewhere...) that the autobuilder mailer sends an e-mail to the address in the Maintainer: field when the package is imported to the repository (and when it moves between extras-* repositories). Not changing the Maintainer: field means that the *original* maintainer (e.g. someone from Debian or Ubuntu) will get the e-mail and most of the time will not know anything about it.
