Do you know of any global-micropayment systems which have a simple API? The only one I'm really aware of is PayPal (which is slightly more macro- than "proper" micropayments). Having a system which allows you to redirect to a page to "send money to this email address" means that maemo.org is entirely out-of-the-loop. Meaning, at least, the community as a whole & maemo.org don't have to worry about the tax/legal implications (IMHO).
