Maintaining the same version in two different places, with different meta-data seems like a PITA. The user'd have to buy, but not install, the app if they then wanted to donate post-install. And note I'm NOT suggesting we implement a payment system on maemo.org; just a way of linking to a PayPal page on behalf of the developer, and that this would provide benefits to the developer and maemo.org overall. *Every* single review of the N900 - if it mentions maemo.org at all - views it as a niche place for apps.
