Hi,
I'm working on getting Debian usable on the N800 [1][2], and for some
reason, when booted into Debian, I can't get the hardware buttons to
generate keycodes in Xomap. showkey works and so does 'cat
/dev/input/event2'. Actually, looking around in /proc and lsof, it
seems that Xomap doesn't even have /dev/input/event2 open while
running (It does in ITOS2008). The Debian hald-addon-input does have
/dev/input/event2 open and lshal returns the correct information about
it. Also, the xorg xserver can use buttons successfully if I tell it
to use the evdev driver and point it at the device. This is all with
Xomap launched with exec, not dsme. I tried using dsmetool once, but
Xomap crashes instantly when run that way in Debian (even with
dsme_socket linked into place). If someone could just give me a hint
as to where I should look for the problem I'd appreciate it. In the
meantime I'll go back to reading the Xomap source. Thanks in advance!

-John
