Well, I also have Office 98 installed (patched with the updater to make it Mac OS 8.5 (and 8.6) compatible) and I haven't yet encountered any interferences between Office 98 and OE 5.06. I have to admit, however, that I don't use Office 98 very often. I use it only to open once in a while a Word or Excel file that found it's way onto my Mac. My wife, too, had problems deleting mails within OE 5.02. The clue was to be very quick. Starting OE 5.02, selecting the file and hitting the delete key in the same instant before the mail could be shown in the preview pane did the trick in deleting those mails which crashed the computer. But since I installed an Apple script which strips HTML out of every mail the problem simply vanished.
