If you get the same error, select 1000 or so at a time (shift-click top and "bottom" to select) and try that. Try even fewer if necessary. Chose a different file name each time when asked (add a "1", "2", etc.) so you don't overwrite previous exports. Let's hope this works. I think it will. Then you should delete masses and masses of old messages, and empty the Deleted Items folder. Then quit and re-launch OE holding down Option key. First try choosing "Yes" to "Compact". If that works you'll be OK (and size will be much smaller). If it doesn't, try again this time choosing "No", then "Yes" to next question about "Complex Rebuild". Hopefully one of these will work.
